The Eastern Front, Dark Ambient, Noise, Neo-Folk, Occult, Czech Republic; (2005) Limited Numbered CD - Ex Used condition
A great deal of mysteries revolve around the historical figure of Count Alessandro di Cagliostro (1743-1795); from his questioned identity as a charlatan called Joseph Balsam (or is it Giuseppe Balsamo?), to the unknown information about the “Egyptian Rites” Freemasonry (and Freemasonry in general) and the rituals it is said to include which are inspired by the ancient Egyptian culture. This album seems to be a tribute to his colorful life in the form of dark ambient with noise, narrated samples and some folk music; just the kind of album you’d want to research about. The album seems like a journey through Cagliostro’s life (or is it his attempt for an afterlife?) There is much to investigate here, and the deeper you go the less you’ll understand. It’s hard to find information about this act, since it’s an unknown debut album, so all I can say is that someone called Stephan V. Friedman wrote the lyrics and music and that there is a limited amount of copies.
Paradise Lost, True Crime, Metallica, Documentary; 2xDVD set with Booklet - Ex Used condition
This two disc set is a documentary which covers the murder of three 8 year old boys in the Memphis area. It covers the discovery of the bodies and the subsequent arrest, charge and conviction of three teenagers. The case became notorious as one in which the convictions were unsound and the way this film is presented allows the viewer to understand how and where opportunities were lost or missed by the police and raises serious concerns about the judicial system. It's shocking and emotional. Compelling viewing.

Zhang Ke Jia is a masterful director. His use of colour and character direction is unreal. One of the things he uses to great effect are arches and hallways. Characters appear in them, or look out of them in what is some of the most visual photography I have ever witnessed. But it doesn't end there. The film is beyond surreal, its real setting makes it all more spectacular and that more effective. Att times it feels like watching a documentary and finds the viewer hoping for characters to do well and be happy and find themselves thinking that these were real people in harsh sometimes difficult situations. "The World" has this effect on you, you can't begin to believe the beauty and harshness it shows, and it tricks you in the most crafty way. The World is a truly fantastic small place in more ways than one...
Horror, Gore, German, Bloody, Bloodthirsty, Nasty; DVD - New
The background story is set in medieval times and consumes the opening title sequence at a brisk and gory pace but then rapidly transfers to the present day. Just when the viewer is getting accustomed to a placid transition set within pleasant scenery, the body count accelerates rapidly as the agent of death and destruction gets familiarised with the modern day environment. It is a period of calm before the unrelenting storm of death which follows right to the end.

Dominick "Vatican Shadow" Fernow presents veiled techno producer Violet Poison on his Bed Of Nails imprint with the spectral industrial gloom of 'Awakening Messiah'. To date Violet Poison is best known as the mysterious accomplice of Shaped Noise in their Violetshaped alias - but here he strikes solo, transmitting four cuts of steely, night-stalking cyberpunk driven by sputtering techno engines through intensely bleak synth interzones. Like Black Rain or Vatican Shadow, it's a chilling exercise in transposing techno from pure dancefloor functionality into the nether realms of sonic fiction, maintaining an unbroken mise-en-scene from the aerial autobahn motion of 'Aenigma Messiah' strafed with speeding synths and steady motorik rumble, or encroaching gangs of destitute, bloodthirsty robots in 'Babylon Suicide' and implanting fake memories of misadventure in the PTSD-triggering atmospheres of 'Osiris Antichrist'. It's manna for the shadow dwellers….
