ANDREW SHERWELL Approaching (2019) UK; Cassette

$8.00
ANDREW SHERWELL Approaching (2019) UK; Cassette Electronic/Dark Ambient/Abstract/Experimental UK, Cassette Pro-dubbed cassette with a solid white shell and full-colour artwork. Limited to 40 copies. Mastered by Stephan Mathieu. "I would always wake with the taste of blood in my mouth and a pounding headache. I would be dehydrated and disorientated. Simultaneously elated and deflated. Every time.  It would always start the same way too. My vision would judder as the world turned silver and white. Dizzy and staggering, my ears ringing, I felt I was being pulled through a wall.  I could hear them calling, terrifying voices urging me on. When I learnt to let go, to accept, it got easier.  And then everything would stop.  What happened next is confused. It was at the time, even more so now. Trying to explain is like trying to recall a dream, vivid in the instance, but the moment you awake, confused and fleeting. It is difficult to believe it actually happened. But it did. So I will try.  Clouds of smoke and incense cloaked them as they circled, swirling in their wake, their forms obscured. The voices were now a whisper, words in no language I recognised. But at the time, I felt their message. One minute urging and insistent, other times mocking and accusatory. Occasionally, they would pay me no attention. I would hear them scream at one another and only rarely glimpse them among the billowing clouds. I would feel alone and lost.  The final time was different. I could hear many voices, far more than usual. They appeared to be singing. Slowly the voices rose to a crescendo and then fell away as a single voice took over. Clearer than normal yet still obscure, it filled me with a tranquillity and joy the like of which I had not known and which I still crave now. And then, for the first and final time, the being appeared. And I wept.  I was still weeping when I awoke, shaking and bloody-mouthed. Grandfather was sitting in a chair that he had pulled up to the sofa where I was lying under a sweat-soaked blanket. He stared intently then lent back and smiled. “They have gone,” he said.  “They won’t be back. Cherish the honour, boy.”  He was right. And I do." Words by Andrew Sherwell

PABLO’S EYE You love Chinese food (1995) Extreme Music; CD

$15.00
PABLO'S EYE You love Chinese food (1995) Extreme Music; CD Ambient/Electronic/Experimental/Avantgarde CD, Used 'You love Chinese food' was given a worldwide release through the Australian label 'Extreme' home to such artists as Muslimgauze, Merzbow, Paul Schütze and many more #4th World explorers.  'You love Chinese food' is  full of ambient soundscapes. Casual rhythms leave huge holes which offer refuge to voices, violins, guitar mutations blended with space dub and fractured trip beats as well as spoken-word stories. A masterly example of compositon which is linear, evocative and moving in every sense. With this album Pablo's Eye had set their own standard.

LIQUID LIQUID Slip in and out of phenomenon (2008); CD

$20.00
LIQUID LIQUID Slip in and out of phenomenon (2008); CD No-Wave/Dance Punk/Post Punk/Avant Funk CD, Used Domino Records released this comprehensive retrospective of legendary New Yorkers, Liquid Liquid. The output of the percussive four-piece might be tiny, but the band’s influence on modern punk-funk has been huge. For a taste of Liquid Liquid, check the 1983 video for ‘Cavern’, the bassline of which will be familiar to Grandmaster Flash fans - it was sampled for ‘White Lines (Don't Do It)’, a borrowing which later became subject to a expensive lawsuit (Liquid Liquid lost, a decision which partially led to the demise of the band in 1984).  The CD compiles all three of Liquid Liquid’s original 99 Records EP's with ten previously unreleased bonus tracks. All tracks have been digitally remastered, and the artwork is designed by band member Richard McGuire.

Free Sentridoh from Loobiecore (Lou Barlow/Sentridoh); CD – Signed!

$55.00
Free Sentridoh from Loobiecore (Lou Barlow/Sentridoh); CD - Signed! Sebadoh/Lou Barlow/Dinosaur Jr/Sentridoh/Signed  CD, Used (Signed by Lou Barlow) This was the first Lou Barlow related full-length release since the 'Folk Implosion''s 1999 masterpiece "One Part Lullaby," a length of time that was previously unheard of in the songwriter's canon.  This record fits in well with Lou's other Sentridoh releases, and continues in the same vein as 1995's "Winning Losers."  His songwriting style has continued to evolve, and is now more straightforward than ever, yet continues to captivate and connect with the listener in the way only Lou can.  Pick it up if you're new to this side of Lou. Signed by Lou Barlow on front cover in black marker, including inscrpition: 'hi Gonk! I'm Lou'  (Picture shown is not of actual item)

Winning Losers: A Collection of Home Recordings 89-93 (Lou Barlow/Sentridoh) Signed!, CD

$55.00
Winning Losers: A Collection of Home Recordings 89-93 (Lou Barlow/Sentridoh) Signed!, CD Sebadoh/Sentridoh/Acoustic/Dinosaur Jr, CD - Signed by Lou Barlow! Lou Barlow's music- although minimalistic and simple, cannot be easily defined, referenced nor categorized. This CD is yet more proof of that statement, it's amazing how this 2 guitars, a couple drums & Lou's trademark unpretentious lyrics combine into type of garage/folk/rock experience which fits no genre. Lou, using his lyrical ability, invites the listener to a barren yet frighteningly real view of life's pains & trials. This CD surely leaves the listener somewhat exhilerated and certainly wiser. A Must-get disc!! Signed on front cover by Lou Barlow with inscriptions: 'losercore', 'really insane', 'Lou Barlow 1/11/07 thx J.L!'... (Image shown is not actual item)

ELECTRONIC SOUND George Harrison (1969); LP

$100.00
ELECTRONIC SOUND George Harrison (1969); LP Avantgarde/Electronic/Experimental/Noise/Beatles - Original 1969 press LP, Used (Small tear in cover) Writing in 'Fusion' magazine, Lloyd Grossman pondered whether Harrison's "Electronic Sound" LP would have been released if not for the Beatles owning the Zapple label. He said that the record's shape and resistance to water made it useful as a "porthole cover" and concluded, in imitation of the noises heard on the LP: "If YOU fweemfweemfweemfweem apapapapapapap have an olD SunbeamToaster ugwachattttattachurgchurg churg and enjoyputting your dddddldddlddlllder ear up to it wwhoooooooggggg*-*- you may enjoy this album phwerpphwerp phwerp …"

BANANAFISH Number 16; Magazine + CD

$45.00
BANANAFISH Number 16; Magazine + CD Avant-garde/Noise/Experimental/Music/Zine Magazine, Used Issue 16 of San Francisco’s cult influential and idiosyncratic noise zine 'Bananafish'.  Over the years, Bananafish’s compelling taste in obscure music, art and performance, as well as the amusingly irreverent tone and content, elevated it from a well-produced amateur fanzine to a renowned scene figure in its own right. Some of its subjects, like Dylan Nyoukis of Prick Decay and Bruce Russell of the Dead C, became contributors, and others were avid readers. Wolf Eyes’ John Olson, who appeared in Issue #13 in 1999, wrote via email that he had followed it from beginning to end, and Australian drone guitarist Oren Ambarchi sought out every issue after he first found it in a Sydney record shop in the late 1980s.  “It was a very important resource for me, being in Australia without much ‘literature’ on the noise underground – and it was hoot,” recalled Ambarchi, who was interviewed in Issue #16 in 2002. “It shaped what I did as a young musician, as I would search for releases of the artists that Bananafish covered,” he said, describing a search for Bananafish’s hardly-known subjects. “I would pore over it to find more clues about this mysterious underground music/culture.”
