Robert Rental And Thomas Leer were both born in Port Glasgow. They moved to London in the late 1970's and became deeply involved in the post punk scene. Rental's Paralysis and Leer's Private Plane along with The Normal's Warm Leatherette/T.V.O.D. are three key electronic post punk singles, all released close to each other and all still sounding as fresh as they did on release. Rental and Leer then collaborated, releasing the outstanding album, The Bridge on Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records in 1979. This is a hugely important album as its influence spreads far and wide from early Depeche Mode and New Order to industrial electronica. The Bridge is perhaps overlooked in favour of early Cabaret Voltaire or Human League in any discussion about the early U.K electronic scene and that is grossly unfair.

Fucking amazing International compilation featuring American and Japanese noise, experimental, garage and lo-fi, junk bands. Assembled back in 1996 by an american expat publishing a zine witnessing the dynamic Osaka underground scene, this CD was sold cheap and serves both purposes of an audio fanzine or an underground radio show captured on CD, most of the bands featured here are pretty diverse, obscure and sometimes difficult to some ears... Contains 25 songs and the 16 page "Exile Osaka" mini zine booklet including band bios and pictures, more info and some excerpts of the Exile Osaka Fanzine.

'You love Chinese food' was given a worldwide release through the Australian label 'Extreme' home to such artists as Muslimgauze, Merzbow, Paul Schütze and many more #4th World explorers. 'You love Chinese food' is full of ambient soundscapes. Casual rhythms leave huge holes which offer refuge to voices, violins, guitar mutations blended with space dub and fractured trip beats as well as spoken-word stories. A masterly example of compositon which is linear, evocative and moving in every sense. With this album Pablo's Eye had set their own standard.

Domino Records released this comprehensive retrospective of legendary New Yorkers, Liquid Liquid. The output of the percussive four-piece might be tiny, but the band’s influence on modern punk-funk has been huge. For a taste of Liquid Liquid, check the 1983 video for ‘Cavern’, the bassline of which will be familiar to Grandmaster Flash fans - it was sampled for ‘White Lines (Don't Do It)’, a borrowing which later became subject to a expensive lawsuit (Liquid Liquid lost, a decision which partially led to the demise of the band in 1984). The CD compiles all three of Liquid Liquid’s original 99 Records EP's with ten previously unreleased bonus tracks. All tracks have been digitally remastered, and the artwork is designed by band member Richard McGuire.

This was the first Lou Barlow related full-length release since the 'Folk Implosion''s 1999 masterpiece "One Part Lullaby," a length of time that was previously unheard of in the songwriter's canon. This record fits in well with Lou's other Sentridoh releases, and continues in the same vein as 1995's "Winning Losers." His songwriting style has continued to evolve, and is now more straightforward than ever, yet continues to captivate and connect with the listener in the way only Lou can. Lou Barlow's music- although minimalistic and simple, cannot be easily defined, referenced nor categorized. This CD is yet more proof of that statement, it's amazing how this 2 guitars, a couple drums & Lou's trademark unpretentious lyrics combine into type of garage/folk/rock experience which fits no genre. Lou, using his lyrical ability, invites the listener to a barren yet frighteningly real view of life's pains & trials. This CD surely leaves the listener somewhat exhilerated and certainly wiser.
