CENTIPEDE HORROR (1982); DVD

$22.00
CENTIPEDE HORROR (1982); DVD DVD, Hong Kong, (Frolic Pictures - Grindhouse series) New After his sister dies under mysterious circumstances while on vacation, Wai Lun decides to take matters into his own hands. Soon enough, he discovers a family curse, battling wizards, and centipedes — lots and lots of centipedes. Written by Suet Ming Chan (making this one of the only Hong Kong Category III horror movies written by a woman) and filled with creepy crawlies, melodrama, evil spirits and insect-barfing, CENTIPEDE HORROR is a true discovery for adventurous horror-fiends. Never released legitimately on home video in the U.S., This DVD is repressed from the only 35mm film print in existence.  Also of note, there is a great bit of moody 80s synthesizer work in here, which sounds awfully familiar to something from El-p's 'Fantastic Damage' album.

LUTHER THE GEEK; DVD

$16.00
LUTHER THE GEEK; DVD DVD (1989), New As a young child Luther The Geek or "The Freak" witnesses a band of men goading a geek (a man who bites off chicken's heads and drinks the blood) into performing. In the ensuing hullabaloo, Luther bites his lip and likes the taste of blood. Flash forward some thirty years and a parole board is meeting to discuss Luther's release. It seems the cheeky blighter has been murdering folk in the meantime. A dopey parole board trainee sides with the liberals and so Luther is unleashed, except now he has a special pair of customised metal teeth. Luther then proceeds to "bite the heads off" of many hapless folk until the tense ending. This movie is most notable for it's bare dialogue, whole stretches pass without a sound. Most of the audio is composed of Luther clucking insanely like a chicken.

SMOKE ‘EM IF YOU GOT ‘EM; DVD

$28.00
SMOKE 'EM IF YOU GOT 'EM; DVD Special Edition DVD (1988), New SMOKE ‘EM IF YOU GOT ‘EM is a long lost post-apocalyptic Aussie cult classic – a nuke and puke masterpiece for the post-punk crowd – set slap bang in the middle of Melbourne’s 80’s underground music scene. Starring Nique Needles (DOGS IN SPACE).  In the smouldering devastation of post nuclear bomb-blasted Melbourne, a periscope protruding from a pile of rubble leads three desperate scavengers to a subterranean fall-out shelter. They muscle their way in, only to discover a raging party in a converted wine cellar, celebrating the Big Meltdown. There’s a band, booze, sex, drugs and a horde of sweat-soaked revellers partying like there is no tomorrow… which for these poor radiation-drenched end-of-the-worlders there isn’t. What choice do the scroungers have but to join in? This special "Bong and Bang Cocktail" edition comes with over 3 hours of extra features including commentaries, interviews, music video’s short films and more…

THE GREASY STRANGLER; DVD

$22.00
THE GREASY STRANGLER; DVD DVD (2016), New The Los Angeles-set tale follows Ronnie, a man who runs a Disco Walking tour along with his browbeaten son, Brayden. When a sexy, alluring woman comes to take the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her attentions. It also signals the appearance of an oily, slimy inhuman maniac who stalks the streets at night and strangles the innocent, soon dubbed 'The Greasy Strangler.' Be warned, this film is fucking weird and quite gross.  And lots of gratuitous nudity. You will tell your mates about it.  Watch it, you'll be glad you did. Rated R: High impact themes, violence, sex, nudity and coarse language

BLOODLUST (Aust); DVD

$24.00
BLOODLUST; DVD DVD (1992), New Three vampires wander the streets of Melbourne killing, screwing and taking drugs. They decide to carry out a heist, stealing three million and attracting the attention of various psychotics, who chase them through a blood spattered odyssey into the Melbourne underground. Think of early Peter Jackson ('Bad Taste') but even more inept and downright crazy. It's cheap, off-kilter exploitation involving buckets of ultra-violence, soft-core sex and maniac dialogues.  The extras are fantastic. This movie has one of the best trailers you will ever see on a low budget horror film.  In the US, a VHS tape bootlegger used to sell NTSC copies of this at horror shows in Chicago, right after this came out on tape in PAL. The dealer ran a trailer of this on a TV he had on his table. Apparently he sold out a whole box of tapes of 'Bloodlust' within minutes of the show opening, based just on the trailer.

ABC’S OF DEATH 2; DVD

$22.00
ABC'S OF DEATH 2; DVD 2 x DVD (2014), New Like the first film, the sequel is divided into 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. The varieties of death range from accidents to murders.  The movie begins with a creepy stop-motion storybook that opens showing children doing a variety of fun activities that end up being very deadly (i.e. a jump rope slices a girl in half, children playing ball with a boy's head and a girl on a swing made from a boy's intestines). Throughout the film, a teacher with a skeleton face presents the titles to all the segments, with each of the segments ending and beginning with a focus on, or a fade into, the color black. Here is an example: T is for Torture Porn (Jen and Sylvia Soska) Yumi is being filmed by a group of misogynistic and abusive filmmakers. The men strip her down and prepare to film her, when one of them spots what they think is a penis. Yumi then reveals that she has tentacles where her clitoris should be and proceeds to kill the filmmakers. Rated R: High impact horror themes, violence, sexual violence and nudity

ABC’S OF DEATH; DVD

$22.00
ABC'S OF DEATH; DVD DVD (2012), New This totally wonderful comedy/horror anthology film is divided into 26 individual chapters, each envisioned by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. The varieties of death range from accidents to murders.  The movie begins showing a close up of a funnel with blood pouring ominously from it. The blood proceeds to fill up various rooms inside of a house before filling up the interior of a small room containing children's letter blocks. The room floods as the blocks float to the top spelling out the title. Throughout the film, the blocks spell out the titles to all the segments with each of the segments ending and beginning with a focus on, or a fade into, the color red. *Here is a hilarious example: F is for Fart (Noboru Iguchi) School girl Yoshie is obsessed with her teacher Miss Yumi. One day while outside, a deadly gas breaks forth from the ground and kills anyone who inhales it. Yoshie and Yumi escape into a building where the former wishes to smell the latter's farts instead of the gas. Yumi farts in Yoshie's face and she is transported to a gas-filled dimension where she and Yumi make out. Rated R: High impact sexual themes, violence and nudity

NIGHTMARES IN RED, WHITE AND BLUE; DVD

$22.00
NIGHTMARES IN RED, WHITE AND BLUE; DVD DVD (2009), New Nightmares in Red, White and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film is a feature-length documentary based on the book of the same name by Joseph Maddrey. It examines the idea that horror films reflect the times and places in which they are made -- illustrating how classic monster movies exploited the anxieties of war-time generations, and how more savage modern horror films stem from the fallout of America's counterculture movement and the subsequent rise of increasingly conservative political forces. At the same time, the documentary explores the timeless, universal appeal of horror movies.  In-depth interviews with many of the nation's greatest horror filmmakers reveal that the appeal of the genre is rooted not only in timely fears but in the spirit of rebellion -- a spirit that consistently defines American life, as well as many of its best horror filmmakers.  Features exclusive interviews with legendary auteurs like John Carpenter, George A. Romero, Joe Dante, Larry Cohen, and Roger Corman, as well as film historian John Kenneth Muir and Fangoria editor Tony Timpone. Their observations are illustrated with clips from more than 150 films -- ranging from the classic Universal monster movies to the psychological horrors of film noir, from groundbreaking films like Night of the Living Dead, Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist and Jaws to contemporary slasher movies, Torture Porn and beyond.  In short, it is the most comprehensive documentary on America's most durable and prolific film genre. 2011 DVD reprint

FRIENDS FOREVER; DVD

$25.00
FRIENDS FOREVER; DVD DVD (2003), Used "We are here to save the world from what rock and roll has become."  -Nate Hayden Take a broken down VW minibus, a beaten up drum kit, an old bass guitar, and a portable generator.  And two energetic youths. Mix.  What do you get?  The almost unbelievable musical group Friends Forever.  Drummer Nate Hayden and Bassist Josh Taylor are not into music for the drugs or the sex or the fame and fortune.  They are in it for their love of music.  They are also on a mission to bring rock music back to the people.  This duo (along with Jenn who does the lighting and their three dogs) travel the country spreading their music, but they don't play inside clubs, they set up out on the street and jam.  The van is their stage, transportation and house.  Wherever there is an empty parking space, they will give a concert.  No audience is too small, and no distance is too far to travel.  They journey from their home in Denver, Colorado to New York City to play one 15 minute gig. Friends Forever is also the name of Ben Wolfinsohn's documentary about this unique musical duo.   Traveling with the band across the USA, Wolfinsohn films these unusual individuals from small show to smaller show, from LA to New York City.  You get to see what drives them and why they do what they do.  With fog machine and strobe lights, Nate plays his drums inside the van, while Josh runs around the parking lot playing his bass.  Josh will come out wearing a wolf head, or a jacket covered with illuminated light bulbs.  He'll get on the roof of the van and set off fire works, all while playing something that resembles a tune.  Their music is DIY noise punk at it's finest. Nate and Josh may seem like slackers who are avoiding life at first, but as the movie progresses, you come to realize how hard they work for such little return.  The little money they make is from selling T-Shirts ($5) and tapes ($3) after their shows.  They even feel bad about charging for these, thinking that anyone who enjoys the show should have a tape.
