Lou Barlow's music- although minimalistic and simple, cannot be easily defined, referenced nor categorized. This CD is yet more proof of that statement, it's amazing how this 2 guitars, a couple drums & Lou's trademark unpretentious lyrics combine into type of garage/folk/rock experience which fits no genre. Lou, using his lyrical ability, invites the listener to a barren yet frighteningly real view of life's pains & trials. This CD surely leaves the listener somewhat exhilerated and certainly wiser.
