VITAL 19 Zine – Frans de Waard (Staalplaat) April 1991 – Asmus Tietchens

$35.00
Original Xeroxed Zine  -

Frans de Waard published Vital, a fanzine for electronic and electroacoustic music, from 1987 to 1995. It was a low-budget, Xeroxed publication, bearing the revolutionary instruction: ‘No Copyright Publication. Reprint Now!’ It featured interviews with Asmus Tietchens, O Yuki Conjugate, Merzbow, P16.D4, Pierre Henry, Jim O’Rourke, Brume, Döc Wor Mirran and many others, hosted discussions on copyright, plagiarism and plunderphonics, house music, ambient music, cassette culture and noise, and included contributions from musicians such as Leigh Landy, Godfried Willem Raes, John Duncan, and GX Jupitter-Larsen. Every issue included reviews of cassette releases, LPs, CDs and books. A total of 44 issues were published. Vital moved online in 1995, where it appeared every week since as Vital Weekly.

Frans de Waard has played with Kapotte Muziek to Beequeen (with Freek Kinkelaar), Goem (with Roel Meelkop and Peter Duimelinks, both of whom are also a member of Kapotte Muziek), Zebra (with Roel Meelkop) as well as solo projects under the moniker Freiband and Shifts, and under his own name. De Waard worked for Staalplaat (1992-2003) and since 1986 as a reviewer for his own independent zine publication Vital.  VITAL zine is a lively record of the heyday of cassette culture and industrial music, but also of developments in the wider field of electronic music.

KING CRIMSON: Great Deciever Live 1973-1974; 4 CD + 72 page Book Box Set (1992)

$150.00
Prog, Progressive, Robert Fripp, Art rock, Live, Box Set, Essential, Rare; 4CD + 72 page book Box Set - Ex Used condition "The Great Deceiver" is an edited collection of tour material 1973-1974. Almost five hours of 47 selections are included in a handsome box, with a 72-page booklet full of relevant information. Many of the cuts are 9-12 min. long, with 4 around a minute. This means long, extended plays giving David Cross, Robert Fripp, John Wetton, and Bill Bruford plenty of space to stretch out in. There is a fifteen-minute song "A Voyage To The Center of the Cosmos," which will be sure to please. King Crimson's strongest line-up, they were even better on stage and this box set is perhaps the best representation of that, making it an essential purchase for King Crimson fans.

MONDO CANDIDO: French Cinema Poster (1975) Jacopetti

$75.00
Mondo, Jacopetti, French, Film, Cult, Poster, Cinema, Vintage, Shocking; Cinema Poster (1975) - Ex Used condition Original 1975 French cinema poster for Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi's 1975 (non-mondo) feature film Mondo Candido. The filmmakers base the film on a cynical satire `Candide' from the French writer Voltaire. Directors Jacopetti and Prosperi are known for their documentaries in which they have already presented the horrors of the world: MONDO CANE (part 1 and 2), AFRICA ADDIO and the very revolting ADDIO ZIO TOM. In comparison with other shockumentaries, all these movies are very well directed, have a racy comment and contain unforgettable images. "Mondo Candido" is a masterpiece. It's sensational, sometimes shocking but you will see a series of unforgettable images, very beautifully filmed, even though they are cruel, nihilistic and pessimistic. The superb musical score from Riz Ortolani is available now, but it is very difficult to find this exceptional movie.

MONDO MYSTERIUM #2: Independent Mondo zine including 3 ultra rare DVD-R Mondo films per issue + accompanying essays

$45.00
Mondo, Shockumentary, Mixtape, Gore, Real Footage, Disturbing; Zine + 3 DVD-R set - New Mondo Mysterium is a monthly published U.S. zine showcasing marginalized mondo films (and the occasional shockumentary or other fellow traveler) that been somewhat neglected (which will mean they have never had a DVD release, or at least not the particular version) and are deserving of recognition for their contribution to the genre.  Each month, the zine comes with three curated DVD-R's of obscure and unreleased mondo films from the Mondo Mysterium collection archive, complete with essays about the selected films. The three DVD-R titles included with in Mondo Mysterium Vol 2 are the esoteric mondo film 'Il piacere e il mistero' (1964); one of the more obscure US shockumentaries, 'The Underbelly of America' (1998); and finally something extra special: 'Death Fest' (ca. 1996), a '90s homebrewed gore mixtape.

SPACE MONKEY AUTOPSY; Limited Edition DVD + VHS + Autopsy Monkey Toy (Bundle) (Mondo Mysterium)

$75.00
Rare, Mondo, Shockumentary, Gore, Disturbing, Documentary, Real Footage, DVD + VHS + Autopsied Monkey Toy Bundle -Limited Edition (24 copies worldwide) - New In 1959, a monkey came hurtling down from space. The US government, doing what the government does best, promptly killed the little monkey astronaut and cut it up. They filmed their slicing and dicing in gory, saturated detail. This is that footage. Never seen by the public before, here Mondo Mysterium presents the full 16-minute autopsy film, transferred from a US Armed Forces Institute of Pathology 16mm reel (it is a silent film, with no added soundtrack, to avoid trivializing the footage). The Space Monkey Autopsy bundle includes the film on VHS and DVD (both NTSC), as well as your own autopsied monkey.
