HUMAN CROSS SECTIONAL ANATOMY: Pocket Atlas of Body Sections and CT Images; Paperback (1994)

$20.00
Medical, Educational, Death, Biology, Weird, Textbook; Paperback 180 Pages (1994) Advances in imaging technology have led to the frequent use of computed tomography and the resultant need to interpret its results with accuracy. Essential to this is a conceptual understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and an appreciation of the spatial relationships of tissues and organs within the body. Learning cross-sectional anatomy now begins in medical school and it will doubtless eventually become as familiar as its more traditional counterparts. It is in this context that this book has been produced. Matching full-colour body sections with corresponding CT scans and explanatory diagrams, it provides a portable and succinct guide to the whole body in section form and a resource for the radiologist, radiographer, neurologist, surgeon and internal-medicine specialist.

TAXIDERMIA Gyorgy Palfi (2006); DVD

$35.00
Gross, Arthouse, European, Avant Garde, Black Comedy; DVD When Neville Gorman said 'The birth of Hungarian cinema was the death of art', this is the sort of thing he had in mind. If you're disturbed by the thought of a man having sex with a pig's carcass, 'Taxidermia' is probably not the movie for you. And believe me, pig sex will be the least of your worries.  Taxidermia is an ugly, depraved, grossly confrontational film set out to (hopefully) upset and induce nausea.....utterly brilliant!

Japan, Noise, Experimental, Music., Harsh, Electronic, Underground; Paperback - David Novak 304 pages (New) Noise, an underground music made through an amalgam of feedback, distortion, and electronic effects, first emerged as a genre in the 1980s, circulating on cassette tapes traded between fans in Japan, Europe, and North America. $45.00
Electronic Music, Experimental, Musique Concrete; Paperback (2013 reprint) Frederick Charles Judd (1914-1992) was a pioneer of British electronic music, composing and recording at his home studio. 'Electronic Music and Musique Concrète', originally published in 1961, was one of the earliest books to introduce to a popular audience a form of music then in its infancy. From the late 1950s into the 1960s Judd toured Britain giving lectures and demonstrations of techniques and equipment, often in the company of his friend and fellow innovator Daphne Oram.

THE BEAST (LA BETE), 2 x DVD Special Directors Cut

$30.00
Erotic, French, Banned, Arthouse, Black Comedy; 2 x DVD special Directors Cut A black comedy of sexual manners set around an arranged wedding to occur on the grounds of an elegant chateau, Walerian Borowczyk's controversial masterpiece should be approached with caution but enjoyed with abandon!! Infamous for the final scene where the titular beast ravishes an American heiress, Lucy Broadhurst (Lisbeth Hummel), on the eve of her wedding to a French aristocrat, the graphic scenes of the beast coupling with its human prey sees the daring Borowczyk (Immoral tales) expound on the animalistic nature of human sexuality. Proving too heavy-handed for the censors, the film, which ravishingly revives the beauty and the beast myth, has been banned for thirty years, now finally comes to DVD in a special director's cut. One of the most bizarre and surreal experiences on film, this depraved tale of animal desire is at once riotous and perverse, and remains a masterwork of arthouse erotic cinema.

The Decameron: Pier Paolo Passolini

$20.00
Passolini, Historic, Erotic, Comedy, Classic (1971); DVD New "Decameron" is the first of Pasolini's three feature-film adaptations of obscene tales of antiquity, the other two being "The Canterbury Tales" and "The Arabian Nights."  The unapologetic choice of ancient, crumbling and dirty locations, coupled with the choice of "real-looking" actors devoid of manufactured graces made this film feel right. 14th century Italy surely was as full of natural humour, even in close proximity to death, as this film makes out. Casual sex in spite of the threat of mortal sin is treated likewise with honesty. A real masterpiece showing humanity in all its various forms.

Punk in NYC’s Lower East Side 1981-1991 – Scene History Series Vol 1; Paperback

$28.00

Punk in NYC’s Lower East Side 1981-1991 by Ben Nadler

Paperback, 48 pages, 2016 - Independent Release Pressing. Much has been written about the glamorous and short-lived New York City punk rock scene of the late 1970s. Less has been written about the second-wave punk scene that followed in the 1980s. Unlike the earlier scene, the ‘80s punk scene took place largely outside of the established downtown clubs, in the streets and squats of the Lower East Side.  Punk in NYC’s Lower East Side, 1981-1991, the first installment in the Scene History Series offers a glimpse into this important cultural moment, which has had such a lasting impact on American subcultures, from Hardcore, to Skinhead, to, most crucially, Anarcho-Punk.  Drawing on both archival documents and original interviews, this zine explores the music of the era’s bands, including Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, False Prophets, Urgent Fury, No Thanks, and Reagan Youth. At the same time, the scene is situated within the broader social context, from the election of Ronald Reagan to the Tompkins Square Riots. Woven throughout is the tragic story of New York City’s most legendary anarcho-punk, Reagan Youth’s Dave Insurgent. Insurgent came from a Jewish family of holocaust survivors whose history is rarely discussed.
