East Jesus is a collection of material Lee Ranaldo recorded between 1981 and 1991. It was released on Atavistic Records. Tracks 2, 5, 8 and 10 are pieces that appeared on the CD version of his first LP "From Here To Infinity" or slight re-edits of that material. The rest of the collection ranges from obscure compilations and 7" releases, or previously unreleased material.

Tarantula is an experimental, prose poetry collection by Bob Dylan written in 1965 and 1966. It was published in 1971. It employs stream of consciousness writing somewhat in the style of Jack Kerouac, William S Burroughs, and Allen Ginsberg. In 2003 Spin magazine did an article called the "Top Five Unintelligible Sentences from Books Written by Rock Stars." Dylan came in first place with this line from Tarantula: "Now's not the time to get silly, so wear your big boots and jump on the garbage clowns."

Midget were known for their brilliant shows and recordings in the 90's. Midget were a heavy, indie, alternative band originally from Brisbane. Later based in Sydney the band stopped performing in 2000. This is their second EP from 1994.

Toshimaru Nakamura and Tetzui Akiyama are two of the leading lights of the “new wave” of Japanese improvisers advancing their cause under the collective banner of “Onkyo”, which can loosely be interpreted to mean “less is more”. They perform together regularly at home, as well as in Europe. They have also collaborated with artists as diverse as Taku Sugimoto, Otomo Yoshihide, Keith Rowe, Gunter Muller, and Jerome Noetinger. Tetuzi is best known as a guitarist, having released albums solo as well as in groups with Taku Sugimoto and others mentioned above. His style is loosely blues-based, but stripped back to a very minimal and deconstructed base of isolated sonic elements. “Toshi”, as he is universally known, while starting as a guitarist, has evolved a unique style of sound performance based on the use of a small sound desk with no signal inputs. Instead this “no-input mixing board” as he calls it, is set up to loop outputs to inputs, running in outboard effects to produce a delicately constructed web of feedback tones and other “accidental” sonic raw materials. Much of the running in international improvisation is being made by Japanese artists, witness 2001”s highly successful “Japanorama” CD 'Meeting at Off-Site vol 1', on Reset [2002].

This is a double CD recorded immediately after the jazz festival in Appleby in July 1999 where the musicians performed both as a quartet and in separate combinations: the first disc recorded at the Gateway Studio; and the second, live at the Vortex - both in London. Years of engagement by these musicians have inspired a massive vocabulary with an astonishing library of sound resources.
