Pierre Henry, Musique Concrete, Avant-Garde, Noise, Experimental, Composition; DVD - New
An essential video to discover Pierre Henry's rich work through his words of the often rare and precious archives taken from the depth of a long career, from the composer's early days with Pierre Schaffer until the 2000s. Pierre Henry appears not only as the great musician we know, but also as a visual artist creating amazing reliefs paintings in which he reconverts elements detached from his old instruments, mixing consoles, etc., according to a very singular artistic approach. Henry is visited by the film team on the occasion of a house concert, so you get a kind of “home story” which, thanks to many insights into Henry's work, has been extremely interesting. There are also excerpts from several concerts and long interview passages. This is how the portrait of a mysterious, fascinating musician is created. In addition to the main film, the DVD also features a complete performance from 2005, the recording of a rehearsal (uncut, very interesting to see Henry adjusts to room acoustics) and a short film from the 1960s, in which Henry contributed music and image editing.

Sun Ra, Afro-futurism, Jazz, Free Jazz, Psychedelic, Historic, Documentary, Avant-garde; Paperback Book (314 pages) 2020 - New
Sun Ra (1914–93) was one of the most wildly prolific and unfailingly eccentric figures in the history of music. Renowned for extravagant performances in which his Arkestra appeared in neo-Egyptian garb, the keyboardist and bandleader also espoused an interstellar cosmology that claimed the planet Saturn as his true home. In Sun Ra’s Chicago, William Sites brings this visionary musician back to earth—specifically to the city’s South Side, where from 1946 to 1961 he lived and relaunched his career. The postwar South Side was a hotbed of unorthodox religious and cultural activism: Afrocentric philosophies flourished, storefront prophets sold “dream-book bibles,” and Elijah Muhammad was building the Nation of Islam. It was also an unruly musical crossroads where the man then known as Sonny Blount drew from an array of intellectual and musical sources—from radical nationalism, revisionist Christianity, and science fiction to jazz, blues, Latin dance music, and pop exotica—to construct a philosophy and performance style that imagined a new identity and future for African Americans. Sun Ra’s Chicago shows that late twentieth-century Afrofuturism emerged from a deep, utopian engagement with the city—and that by excavating the postwar black experience of Sun Ra’s South Side milieu, we can come to see the possibilities of urban life in new ways.
Limited edition 300 copies, Harsh, Banned, Disturbing, Noise, Electronic, Experimental, Power Electronics; Vinyl LP - Ex Used condition
Notorious split LP from Nicole 12 and Prurient complete with very disturbing wraparound printed card sleeve and lyric sheet. The Nicole 12 side is particularly harrowing, with monstrously mutated found tapes ala Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson put to spools of high end electronics and ferociously delivered lyrics exploring variously fucked mind states. The bleak ardour of the music barely relents, jamming a whole bunch of contradictory and ambiguous signals in a way that gives you little room to orientate yourself or make any definitive reading, forcing you back on your own preconceptions, prejudices and dark places. Terribly uneasy listening that demands a response way the hell beyond any comfortable binary notion of good/evil or right/wrong. So don’t put your brain to bed. Prurient side is a beauty, featuring a bunch of tracks segued together in a fog of low-grade feedback and immolating vocal form. Banned from sale on Discogs due to disturbing content.

Japanese, Japanoise, Rock, Noise, Boris, Merzbow, Southern Lord, Live; Limited Edition Double CD - EX Used condition
Rock Dream is not just the best album Boris ever made, but also one of the finest live albums you will ever hear. Rock Dream was recorded in Tokyo in 2006, one year after the band had just reached its peak in popularity with Pink. Masami Akita (Merzbow) adapts to the environment perfectly. For this one night he’s just the fourth member of Boris. Merzbow’s material has such an incredible presence on his records, but in a collaborative setting he consistently proves to be keenly aware in his supportive roles. Akita never makes a collaboration about him and works his waves of noise and scree to fit his partners. He adds layers of extra haze to the heavy openers “Feedbacker” and “Black Out,” but then focuses his instrument to make the razor edged rush of “Pink” and “Woman on the Screen” sound better than they do in the studio. His versatility becomes clear on Boris’ gentler and prettier tracks, “Rainbow,” and “Flower Sun Rain” (a PYG cover and later a highlight off of 2008’s uneven Smile). “Rainbow” is like a breath of fresh air after the three opening tracks. The song is built on its bass line and Wata’s gentle vocals, which were a rare treat back when “Rainbow” came out. Akita recognizes this and pulls back to allow the spaciousness to develop, creating subtle menacing textures and briefly swooping in with noise. When he adds his spacey laser sounds (trust me there’s not a better way to describe it) into the PYG cover it perfectly blends with the acid soaked bliss, and wisely stays in a supporting role even as the rest of the band builds the song into a massive climax.

Teenage Wasteland provides memorable portraits of "rock and roll kids" and shrewd analyses of their interests in heavy metal music and Satanism. True Crime, Violent, Nasty, Serial Killer, Panzram, Self Published, Disturbing; Paperback Book - New
This book collects and represents the confessional statements of convicted and executed American serial killer; Carl Panzram. These writings were created by Panzram whilst in prison serving a sentence towards the end of his life, where he met an officer named Henry Lesser who provided him with writing materials. This provides insights into the mind of an unbound, destructive monster through a lens of nihilism. Ideal for Philosophy, Sociology and Criminal students to gain first hand knowledge of what makes some men do the things they do.The writing here contains a number of disturbing scenes and a large quantity of offensive language and racial slurs. Snuff, Gore, Slasher, Uncut, Uncensored, Cult, Controversial; DVD (Euro Cult) - Ex Used condition
Touted as the film that sparked the urban legend of the "Snuff" film, Snuff (or American Cannibale, as the German version was called) is one of the most legendary Grindhouse efforts of the 70s, a low-budget gore flick directed by Michael and Roberta Findlay. Originally a mere slasher film called Slaughter, it quickly became controversial when the film's distributor, Alan Shackleton, added new scenes to the ending, supposedly showing a woman being murdered by the film crew of Slaughter. This is English language Uncut version.
