EVIL DEAD TRAP 2 (1992); DVD

Japan/Gore/Thriller/Cult – Unearthed Films, DVD

A sequel in name only, this second entry in the EDT-series is easily the most satisfying one. It’s as gory as one might expect from an Asian horror film, some scenes almost forcing the viewer to look away (eg: when the breaking-the-arm-over-the-radiator bit comes along) but this one has an ingenious plot and decent acting to boot.  Far less derivative than the original, EDT 2 involves a young, timid girl who goes on a killing spree, her self-loathing fueling the fire. There’s also a sub-plot of an abortion gone awry, and the re-appearance of Hideki, probably the scariest child in movie history. Dream-logic, most of it, but it works.  The photography is perversely stylish, the pacing hypnotic. Some images, like a wounded victim staggering forward against a full-neon backdrop, or the twisted ballet of protagonist and antagonist battling in a mesh of white sheets, will stay with you for a very long time. The soundtrack, a Goblin-inspired celesta-theme, is breath-taking, and extremely well used throughout the film.

EDT 2 is top-notch film-making all the way, and will have you looking under the bed for nights to come. Argento would be proud. ……..

ANTHROPOPHAGUS 2 Disc Special Edition (Joe D’Amato); DVD

$45.00
ANTHROPOPHAGUS 2 Disc Special Edition (Joe D'Amato); DVD Gore/Horror/Video Nasties DVD (1980), Used Antropophagus has been described as having "a noted place in the annals of the escalation of gore". The film has gained Cult status - if only "amongst fringe horror video audiences". It has been argued that the reason for its cult status lies in its theme of cannibalism, hence "consumption of humans", which lends itself to cult reception. The scene in which the titular man eater strangles a pregnant woman, tears out the fetus from her womb and bites into it, made it become one of the infamous "Video Nasties" that were prosecuted in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s, and the "controversy greatly aided its cult reputation" as well.  2 disc special edition extras include Joe D'Amato documentary film, Trailers, Photo gallery and additional footage.

SNUFF TAPE ANTHOLOGY: Blu Ray (El Gore)

$45.00
Nasty, Gore, SOV, German, Bloodthirsty, Short Films, Snuff, Underground; Blu Ray - Ex Used condition Quote: "Me and my girlfriend have killed dozens of people over the last years, worthless pieces of filth that won't be missed by anyone. We also captured some of our murders on video for a small group of like-minded people. But killing started to get boring, and so I decided to make my last dream become reality and have my girlfriend video tape it. For ages, I have been dreaming of inflicting actions of hatred and lust on a corpse, and then getting buried next to this last victim. So I kidnapped a 21 year old whore yesterday. I will kill her, bleed her, then let her ripen for four months, in order to commence with my final masterpiece. These are the videos leading up to my last, most depraved act. There is no dialogue in any of these shorts, which tell this story of madness through the actions of the killer. They consist of the following shorts: Snuff Tape 0 - Black & Died (4 min) Snuff Tape 1 - Red (6 min) Snuff Tape 2 - Red & Yellow (10 min) Snuff Tape 3 - Dead, Red & Brown (24 min) Snuff Tape 4 - Dead Fast Food (8 min) Snuff Tape 5 - Final Extreme Suicide (11 min) Snuff Tape 6 - Organ Trade Autopsy (6 min) Snuff Tape 7 - Gore (20 min) The Lost Snuff Tape - Dead Body (7 min)"

FRIENDS FOREVER; DVD

$25.00
FRIENDS FOREVER; DVD DVD (2003), Used "We are here to save the world from what rock and roll has become."  -Nate Hayden Take a broken down VW minibus, a beaten up drum kit, an old bass guitar, and a portable generator.  And two energetic youths. Mix.  What do you get?  The almost unbelievable musical group Friends Forever.  Drummer Nate Hayden and Bassist Josh Taylor are not into music for the drugs or the sex or the fame and fortune.  They are in it for their love of music.  They are also on a mission to bring rock music back to the people.  This duo (along with Jenn who does the lighting and their three dogs) travel the country spreading their music, but they don't play inside clubs, they set up out on the street and jam.  The van is their stage, transportation and house.  Wherever there is an empty parking space, they will give a concert.  No audience is too small, and no distance is too far to travel.  They journey from their home in Denver, Colorado to New York City to play one 15 minute gig. Friends Forever is also the name of Ben Wolfinsohn's documentary about this unique musical duo.   Traveling with the band across the USA, Wolfinsohn films these unusual individuals from small show to smaller show, from LA to New York City.  You get to see what drives them and why they do what they do.  With fog machine and strobe lights, Nate plays his drums inside the van, while Josh runs around the parking lot playing his bass.  Josh will come out wearing a wolf head, or a jacket covered with illuminated light bulbs.  He'll get on the roof of the van and set off fire works, all while playing something that resembles a tune.  Their music is DIY noise punk at it's finest. Nate and Josh may seem like slackers who are avoiding life at first, but as the movie progresses, you come to realize how hard they work for such little return.  The little money they make is from selling T-Shirts ($5) and tapes ($3) after their shows.  They even feel bad about charging for these, thinking that anyone who enjoys the show should have a tape.
